In 2006, Mr. Pedro Zaragoza Fuentes publically thanked Mayor Héctor Murguía Lardizábal for his assistance. Mr. Pedro Zaragoza Fuentes and Mr. Jorge Zaragoza Fuentes had requested the mayor’s assistance to find a solution to their dilemma with the country estate that Mr. Pedro Zaragoza Vizcarra had acquired.
In addition, members of the “Comité Procreación Granjas Lomas del Polco, A. C.” (Procreation Committee of Polco Hills Farmland, Civil Association), represented by Mr. Faustino Olivares Nava, also brought the same matter to Mayor Murguía’s attention.
As Pedro Zaragoza Fuentes wrote, “THANK YOU, Mayor HÉCTOR ‘TETO’ MURGUÍA, for your committed and judicious intervention in finding a solution to this longstanding dilemma, which none of the other previous three branches of government were able to resolve with the degree of sensitivity and political will that you and your administration have shown, in full compliance with the Law, while guaranteeing the notion of private property, and saving the heritage of those least fortunate by affording them the benefits of social justice.”
As a result of the mayor’s actions, ten hectares of land were donated to develop a housing complex that included a kindergarten, elementary school, church and commercial strip. As they wrote, “The degree of sensitivity and rapprochement demonstrated by the Mayor towards those least fortunate within our community directly benefits over one hundred families, providing legal certainty to their heritage.”
